Take a one-on-one Alexander Technique lesson on Zoom from wherever you are. Individual Zoom lessons are a practical way to work on posture, tension, balance, breathing, and everyday movement in your own home.

Whether you are new to the Alexander Technique or already have some experience, one-on-one Zoom lessons can help you notice habits that may be getting in your way and find easier, more comfortable ways of sitting, standing, walking, and working at your screen.

Who these lessons are for

These lessons may be a good fit if you:
• would like individual attention but are not in New York City
• want to work in your own home or office using Zoom
• are looking for practical help with neck and back pain, stiffness, posture, or excess tension
• want to apply the Alexander Technique to everyday activities, computer use, performance, speaking, or exercise

What often comes up

In individual Zoom lessons, we might explore:
• how to sit and use your computer with less strain
• how to stand and walk with more ease and better balance
• what you may be doing that creates extra tension in the neck, back, or shoulders
• Alexander Technique ideas such as inhibition, direction, awareness, and end-gaining, in simple everyday language
• ideas and experiments from my very practical, slightly offbeat book Lighten UP

What makes Zoom lessons different

Zoom lessons are different from in-person lessons, but they can still be highly effective. They are adapted specifically for online teaching, and all you need is a chair, enough room to stand and walk a few steps, and access to Zoom.
One advantage of Zoom is that you work in your own real-life setting. That can make it easier to look at the way you sit at your desk, use your screen, or move through familiar daily activities.

You’re welcome

You’re welcome whether you’re new to the Alexander Technique or already have some experience. Sessions are 45 minutes and $75. Use my online calendar to see available times for individual Zoom lessons.
